Job Description

OB OBJECTIVE Support the efforts of the Product Assurance Department with the goal to ensure that our products are safe, meet all the industry standards and regulatory requirements, and are sourced from reliable and responsible vendors . This position will be focused on choosing the appropriate level, criteria, and frequency of pre-shipment inspections and audits. Work very closely with our international quality team, acquisitions, distribution centers, and with our third-party inspection and audit groups to coordinate our inspections and auditing efforts, and continually improve our processes. This role supports the Wolseley Industrial Group (WIG) Approved Manufacturer’s List (AML), international, and Own Brand vendor selection processes through factory audit synchronization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Offer outstanding customer service to internal and external customers

  • Coordinate the appropriate inspection services at our vendors’ locations to support timely shipment of goods and ensure our products are safe and meet specifications

  • Coordinate the appropriate audit level at our vendors’ locations to support vendor on-boarding for international, industrial, or Own Brand products, or to confirm corrective actions have been taken by vendors, as needed

  • Be a team member for Corrective Action Teams (CATs)

  • Review data from inspection reports to identify where further actions are warranted

  • Work closely with other Product Assurance Analysts to identify and contain product issues to prevent suspect or defective product from shipping to any customer

  • Assist in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support informed decision making about the use of various inspectors and inspection companies

  • Develop reporting, analyses, and benchmarks for vendors whose products are found to be non-conforming during inspections.

  • Maintain accurate data on inspections and audits

  • Be the Single Point of Contact (SPC) for inspections and audits

  • Develop Best Practices and Standard Operating Procedures as needed

  • Incorporate Lessons Learned into our policies and procedures so we have continuous improvement
